Assistant Dean of Development
Annie Roeser was named assistant dean of development and external relations, in 2023. Roeser oversees a team that supports initiatives across 14 departments, 22 centers and institutes for the UC Davis College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, first in the nation and in the world. Her team facilitates all fundraising, alumni engagement, industry relations and gift administration activities on behalf of the college.
In 2024, Roeser’s team announced fundraising totals of just over $415 million, as part of UC Davis’s $2.25 billion Expect Greater Campaign. In total 9,328 alumni, friends, foundations and industry partners supported initiatives throughout the eight-year endeavor investing in key areas across the environment, agriculture and human and social sciences. Investments totaling $232 million for research, $75 million for departmental priorities and $41 million for student support and instruction led the way. Additionally, just over $80 million in new endowed funds were established, which will continue to support students, faculty and programs for decades to come.
Prior to UC Davis, Roeser spent 10 years working in major gifts at the University of California, San Francisco, where she supported a host of programs within the School of Medicine, securing support for a wide array of health science activities, including basic, translational and clinical research, clinical care, education, social justice and policy work. During her tenure at UCSF, she was also a part of the institution’s successful $6.2B comprehensive campaign, one of the largest ever for a public health-sciences focused university.
Before beginning her career in development, Roeser spent several years as a college basketball coach. In addition to overseeing academics and player development, Roeser also implemented a leadership development curriculum for student- athletes, as well as intentional culture building initiatives.
Originally from Marsing, Idaho, Roeser is part of a fifth generation ranching and horse training family. She completed her B.A. in philosophy at the College of Idaho and an M.A in Sports Management at the University of San Francisco. Roeser lives in Davis with her family.
