The centers and institutes within the college serve as interdepartmental focal points to address emerging and critical issues; advance the research and outreach goals of the college and its many researchers and units; facilitate engagement of stakeholders; and serve as information centers for industry partners, alumni, donors, and other stakeholders
Agricultural Sustainability Institute
With a focus on food and agricultural sustainability research and education, the institute includes the Student Farm, the UC Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Program (SAREP), and Russell Ranch, home to The Century Experiment.
Cal Fresh Healthy Living
The University of California CalFresh Nutrition Education Program (UC CalFresh NEP, or just UC CalFresh) is funded through a joint agreement among the U.S. Department of Agriculture/Food and Nutrition Service (USDA/FNS), the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) CalFresh branch, and the University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE). UC CalFresh consists of Adult, Family-Centered, and Youth programs operating throughout California.
California Center for Urban Horticulture
Cutting-edge horticultural information for Californians is the focus at this center. Issues include water-conserving and pest-resistant home gardens; environmentally sound public landscapes; and producing better plant materials for sustainable urban landscapes.
Center for Aquatic Biology and Aquaculture
Center for Aquatic Biology and Aquaculture and its aquatic research facilities provide the basic infrastructure to allow departments within the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, as well as campus-wide, to conduct multidisciplinary and interdepartmental research and associated programs.
Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Markets, Risk and Resilience
The Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Markets, Risk and Resilience conducts and supports research on policies and programs designed to help poor and smallholder farmers in developing economies to manage risk, adopt productive technologies and take an active part in economic growth.

The Climate Resilient Chickpea Innovation Lab emphasizes the crop-based traits of climate resilience and nutrition, focusing genetic improvement on the needs of smallholder farmers in Ethiopia and India.

The Genomics to Improve Poultry Innovation Lab applies advanced genetics and genomic approaches to enhance innate resistance to Newcastle disease and tolerance to heat stress, to improve the chicken production by households and smallholder farmers in Africa.

Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Horticulture is a global research network that advances fruit and vegetable innovations, empowering smallholder farmers to earn more income while better nourishing their communities.
Foundation Plant Services
Foundation Plant Services produces, tests, maintains and distributes elite disease-tested plant propagation material; provides plant importation and quarantine, disease testing, virus elimination, and DNA identification services; coordinates release of UC-patented horticultural varieties; and links researchers, nurseries and producers.
Gifford Center for Population Studies
The Gifford Center for Population Studies examines the myriad ways in which growing populations affect each other and the earth. John P. and Mary Louise Gifford established the Gifford Center in 1998 to support research and education about the effects of human population growth on the food supply, environment, and sustainability.
Global Engagement
The UC Davis College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Office of Global Engagement shares agricultural knowledge and information with the world. We conduct training and workshops, facilitate research & extension projects, advise on curriculum development, sponsor global programs, offer educational opportunities, and build capacities.
Plant Transformation Facility
The Ralph M. Parsons Foundation Plant Transformation Facility was established at the University of California at Davis to provide cost effective plant transformation and plant cell biology services for the plant research community.

The Center for Regional Change
Launched in 2007, the Center for Regional Change (CRC) is a catalyst for innovative, collaborative, and action-oriented research. It brings together faculty and students from different disciplines, and builds bridges between university, policy, advocacy, business, philanthropy, and other sectors.
UC Davis Analytical Laboratory
The laboratory performs analyses on selected chemical constituents of soil, plant, water and waste water, and feed in support of agricultural and environmental research. Analytical Laboratory clients are University of California academics, other educational institutions, government agencies, and research-based businesses.

The Honey and Pollination Center at the Robert Mondavi Institute showcases the importance of honey and pollination to the wellbeing of consumers through education and research.
UC Davis Olive Center
The UC Davis Olive Center has built a strong university/industry coalition aimed at meeting the research and education needs of olive growers and processors. Since its founding in 2008, the Center has delivered more than $5 million in research and campus resources while supporting itself through product sales, course revenue, research grants, and donations.
World Food Center
The World Food Center (WFC) mobilizes the research, educational and outreach resources of UC Davis, in partnership with consumers, public and philanthropic entities, and the agricultural, marine and food industries, to promote innovative, sustainable and equitable food systems.
