Philanthropy Helps Students Grow
Empowering Student-led Solutions in Viticulture and Enology
Research at UC Davis goes beyond the lab. It’s a launchpad for future leadership in the wine industry. The newly established Araujo Family V&E Scholars Research Fund is making that possible by providing helpful awards so that graduate students in the Department of Viticulture and Enology can focus fully on their studies without financial stress.
Graduate Student Research Endowment
A generous gift from Chris and Betsy van Kessel will help graduate students in the Department of Plant Sciences pursue field-based research in areas such as crop breeding and genetics, ecological management, post-harvest quality and orchard management. The $500,000 endowment will provide support to students working on real-world challenges in crop production, sustainability and innovation.
Supporting Our Future Environmental Leaders
The Environmental Science and Policy Experiential Learning Fund was established by current and former faculty members to build an endowment to support undergraduates majoring in Environmental Policy Analysis and Planning and Environmental Science and Management. This fund aims to help students pursue meaningful, career-building internships in the environmental field.
Student Earns Janet F. Roser Equine Science Award
Raja Zabeeh Ullah Khan is the first recipient of the Janet F. Roser Equine Science Award, which supports students with a demonstrated interest in equine science, management and reproduction. The award was established by a generous gift to CA&ES by Jan Roser, professor emeritus with the Department of Animal Science who conducted cutting-edge work in equine reproduction, physiology and endocrinology.
