Bio

Anne joined UC Davis in 2013 as an assistant professor in animal physiology in the Department of Animal Science. 

She earned her Bachelor of Science at the University of Guelph, Canada, and her Ph.D. in animal science and zoology from the University of British Columbia, Canada, in 2005. Anne held a National Science and Engineering Research Council of Canada postdoctoral fellowship at UC Santa Barbara before joining San Francisco State University in 2009 as an assistant professor. 

A UC Davis Chancellor’s Fellow, Anne has been the animal science chair since 2021, where she oversaw many faculty, staff, the largest undergraduate major in the college and 11 animal facilities. She served as president of the physiology section of the American Fisheries Society from 2022 to 2024, is the associate director of academic programs for the Coastal and Marine Science Institute and has co-led several National Science Foundation funded summer undergraduate research programs aimed at broadening access to science careers of students from all backgrounds. Anne has been actively engaged in a number of college committees promoting the innovative research and impact of our faculty.
